 sisso is one of the precious tree found in many countries such as Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia. Sisso local name is Dalbergia Sisso but it called by different names in different areas  in Indonesia sisso is called Pradu Khaek , in Nepal called sissua.

 Other names of Dalbergia Sisso is shisham, gette, sissua, siso, nukku katti, yette, gette, pradu-khaek, and thali etc. In Pakistan sisso called Shisham in most of areas but in Punjab region some where people called Tali (ٹالی) . 

The Tree of Shisham growing up to 30m long and 80cm in width. Shisham grew up in a suitable condition. In our article we use word Shisham instead of all other names so keep reading.

Ecology for shisham ?

Shisham found mostly in Pakistan, India and Nepal. Shisham grow along the river banks. The best temperature for growing of this tree is 12  C to 50 C. 500mm to 2000mm annual rainfall must be need to grow it. Shisham can grow in Slightly sline soil. 


Where Shisham found in Pakistan?

Shisham found every where in Pakistan but it usually found in Punjab, KPK and Sindh reigon. Sisham planted secessfully in many areas of Pakistan. It is mostly planted in 10 billion tree sonami program started in Imran Khan Govt.
 Shisham does not found in coldest or desert areas. It is mostly found in plain areas of Pakistan. Shisham was introduced in Pakistan in 1800s in Rawalpindi , Hazara and Attock district with time it spread all our the Pakistan. In Pothowar region shisham trees are usually found. 

Uses of Shisham Tree

In Pakistan Shisham wood mainly used for furniture , sport industry, firework and pharma industry. The wood of shisham is very fine for use in furniture and cabinet making. Shisham wood is highly recomended in making kitchen utensils and cookware. Its wood is highly used in furniture because it is very strong and polished in different shades.
 Shisham is also used for medicine. It is used for the treatment of fever, non healing wounds, ulcers, vitiligo, and obesity.

Shisham is planted in every area of Pakistan except the are which temperature is less than 12C and the area which temperature is high then 50C. It is planted in open area because it height is about 50 to 82 meter and width is also 7 to 10 feet that's why it covers a big area. The plant of Shisham spend 10 to 12 year in growing.
